The 2026 Nomination meeting of the Jockey Hollow Homeowners Association (the "Corporation") at the Jockey Hollow Subdivision will be September 12th, 2026 at 2:00 PM, and will take place upon the open space located within the Jockey Hollow subdivision. The purpose of this meeting is for the association of unit owners to nominate fellow homeowners for the Board of Directors for Jockey Hollow Homeowners Association.

The following is the agenda for the meeting:

1. Call of meeting to order;

2. Approval of previous meeting's minutes;

3. Treasurer's Report;

4. Nomination of new Board of Directors;

5. Acceptance by nominees;

6. New Business;

7. Adjourn Meeting.

If any of the nominees are not present to accept their nomination, the Board of Directors will reach out to them for their answer. All nominees must accept by September 13th, 2026. Once all have accepted or declined, a list will be posted on the Jockey Hollow web site. The duties of the members of the Board of Directors as contained in the Bylaws of the Corporation may be found in ARTICLE VI of the Bylaws. HOA Community Safety Notice

As we prepare to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day holiday, the Jockey Hollow HOA Board of Directors wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.

On June 3, 2026, Governor Matt Meyer declared a Statewide Drought Watch following recommendations from the Delaware Water Supply Coordinating Council. The declaration noted that Kent and Sussex Counties have experienced significant rainfall deficits, resulting in dry conditions that increase the risk of grass and brush fires.

With these conditions in mind, we encourage all residents to exercise extra caution. Dry grass, mulch, landscaping, and wooded areas can ignite much more easily than usual.

To help protect our community, please remember to:

• Follow all applicable state and local laws regarding fireworks.
• Avoid using fireworks near dry grass, trees, shrubs, mulch, fences, homes, or other combustible materials.
• Keep a garden hose or bucket of water readily available.
• Never leave fireworks unattended.
• Thoroughly soak used fireworks with water before disposing of them.
• Be mindful of neighbors, pets, veterans, and others who may be sensitive to loud noises.

By taking a few simple precautions, we can all help ensure a safe and memorable holiday while protecting our families, neighbors, homes, and the beautiful Jockey Hollow community.

At this moment, we do not have enough votes to reduce our assessments. Therefore, the board made a motion to extend the time to get your votes in until next Saturday December 27th at 5pm. You can submit your vote to any board member. We are willing to pick them up at your home for those that are unable to get out. Just let us know. (If we do not get enough votes, the budget will revert to last year’s budget.)

A Meeting of the Members of the Jockey Hollow Homeowners Association will be held on December 20, 2025, at 10am at The Clayton Whistle Stop Railroad Station located at 101 S. Bassett Street Clayton, DE. At this meeting, homeowners will be voting on the 2026 Budget Proposal. The Jockey Hollow HOA Board of Directors will also hold a Director’s Meeting after the Budget Vote is concluded. A Google Meet link will be posted on our website (www.jockeyhollowhoa.com) and on and on “The Residents of Jockey Hollow” Community Facebook Page so that Members who are unable to attend can still participate in the meeting.

In the 2026 budget, the Board is proposing a decrease in our annual assessments. In order for the decrease to take effect, 20% of the membership, or 42 votes approving the decrease MUST BE RECEIVED.

** If less than 42 votes approving the decrease are received, then the budget will stay the same and revert to last year's budget at the higher amount. **

Please check your mail for the Budget Meeting Announcement, Agenda, and voting ballots for the proposed budget that were mailed out earlier this week.

If you are unable to drop off your budget vote, you can still vote by proxy by filling out the proxy vote and having someone drop it off for you, or by mailing it to JH HOA - PO Box 891 – Clayton, DE 19938. If you do not have anyone to drop off your vote, you are more than welcome to reach out to any board member, and we will be glad to help get your vote in.

Due to some questions and concern that have been expressed from the community, we are going to hit pause on the HOA election.

To operate both ethically and legally (which is always the goal), new ballots will be mailed out and the meeting will be postponed until Saturday September 27, 2025.

Please go ahead and recycle any election mailings that you have already received. They are now officially outdated. Fresh, corrected mailings will be on the way as soon as possible.

Earlier today there were text messages sent out to the community making it appear that a payment was processed for your annual assessments. Please disregard this text.

As you are already aware, Kent County managed the collection of Jockey Hollow's assessments this year and payment was required to be sent to them via check.

Today, we finally receoved information from the county informing us who paid. We took this information and uploaded into our system. When we did that, the sysem sent out a text to everyone that we updated as "paid" making it appear that a payment was processed today. * NO payments were processed today *

Please disregard today's notices that were sent via text.

We apologize for this happening as it was done automatically without our knowledge.

The board has been approached by a couple residents and would like to clarify the Kent County $13.00 fee that is being added to the HOA dues that everyone should have received by now in the mail.

The $13.00 fee that Kent County is adding to the yearly dues was budgeted in the first budget that we are still going by.

This fee WILL BE PAID BY THE HOA.

Since this is the first year that Kent County has taken over this process for us, we are currently working out the logistics with them as to exactly how it will be done.

If there are some who have already paid the $13.00 fee, we will get you reimbursed.

We will circle back ASAP to provide more details.

Thank you to those who attended the meeting of members that was held yesterday, Saturday December 14, 2024, both in-person and virtually, that included our 2024-2025 budget vote. Unfortunately, we did not receive enough votes to have a quorum, so the budget will remain the same as last year’s.

Deed Restrictions Update Committee - the purpose of this committee is to help the Board identify what, if any, Deed Restrictions should be updated to reflect the current and future state of the Community

Community Outreach and Aesthetics Committee - the purpose of this committee is to help the Board organize Community events, decorate for hoidays, and provide input on landscaping or other design changes for common areas
